Luninux 11.11 Open Octopus. A very nice OS X Lion impersonator with stylish out-of-the-box functionality. Very nice artwork, fonts, branding, apps, and overall experience. Recommended definitely for the new user. Being based on Ubuntu 11.10 it's a very widely used OS with a lot of support documentation for the new user.
