Trees pays homage to the 1975 classic, Jaws, whose infamous characters, plagued by the threat of a killer great white shark, have been replaced with a cast haunted by a menacing great white pine tree. Like many of its ilk that aspire to be "so bad it's good," the film does have some genuinely funny moments.
Life is peaceful in the small town of Hazelville until a man-eating "Great White Pine" makes the Memorial Day campers into a holiday feast. Kevin McCauley plays Forest Ranger Mark Cody of the Hazelville camp ground besieged by the huge man eating pine tree. Peter Randazzo stars as Squint, the crazy lumberjack willing to go after the monster for a price and Philip Gardiner rounds off the bill as Max Cooper, the cocky botanist from the big city. With their ingenious scheme, when the heroic trio set off for the final encounter with the Great White Pine for the battle to the death, you can be sure that the action has just begun! Will they turn the buffet table around on the killer tree?
