KLM B737-700 Edinburgh to Amsterdam

Flight: KL1290
A/C: B737-700 reg PH-BGH

Takeoff: Edinburgh Intl. rwy24
Landing: Amsterdam Schiphol rwy18R

REcorded with the Panasonic hdc-tm300. Also used a Raynox hd5050 pro 0,5x wideangle conversion lens. Again, audio auto gain control was switched off, using a fixed rec level of -24db.

I used a shutter of 1/500s (opposed to the 'standard' 1/50s) , to get a sharper image. It also requires the iris (aperture) to open up more, so better DOF is also accomplished. It's better, because the window dirt get's more out of focus, resulting in a smoother view.
The bits with the A/C windows in the frame, and the final approach + landing were shot in full manual exposure.

Unfortunately a few focus mishaps occur; Normally I use the landscape scenemode on the camera. This sets the focus prio to infinity, so preventing the cam from focussing on the windows. But in this mode, the manual controls are not available. I'll have to go for manual focus next time.

Edited with apple final cut pro. On early final approach, when we're overflying the channel, I switched to manual exposure on the camera, and underexposed a few bits to get the blue sky back. In the editing stage I applied a gradual exposure filter (with compensation) to get proper exposure back for the landscape. Used the magic bullet looks plugin for that. Other editing includes stabilization, color & contrast correction.

Enjoy!
