FORWARDING port is very importand because if you dont forward the port , other clients that want to connect to it cant connect because is blocked or filtered by your router,you must have a personal real IP to make it work on the INTERNET, or a LAN IP to make it work to LAN(you dont need to forward the port if you want to use the server only on LAN).
