Bose L1 Compact Portable PA demo - available @ Nevada Music UK
Bose L1 compact available here... We've all heard of Bose right ...? We probably associate them with high end domestic hi-fi and for the older musicians amongst us we can probabaly remember back to the 70's and 80's when Bose had their own PA systems. Well now there's a new generation of Bose speakers specifically developed for musicians and for live performance, it uses the technology that Bose have become globally famous for over the last 30 years - and what's special about this sytem you ask ... ? Read on and and all will be made clear .....
The L1 Compact system combines conventional PA and monitors into one sleek unit. Positioned behind or to the side of a performer, DJ or presenter, it delivers wide, even sound coverage throughout the stage area and audience—even off to the extreme sides. It's the smallest, lightest, easiest-to-set-up Bose L1 system available weighing in at just 29 pounds.
Ok, here's the technology bit after which I'm supposed to say ... "Because you're worth it ...." The Bose compact system breaks down into 3 sections, firstly there's the Power Stand which essentially is the base section of this system that the speaker tower clips into, this section provides all of the power connectivity and routes the audio signal via the on-board amplifier, through the two channel mixer and on to the speakers which are housed within the two section tower that slides into the base (Power stand).
The next piece to be connected is the Portable Line Array speaker tower (their description - not mine ...) which contains the Bose Cylindrical Radiator speaker system - in its most basic format this is a tower of speakers which are stacked one on top of the other but with each speaker angled at 45 degrees to the left or right of each other. The science behind this thought process is that it provides a much wider sound dispersion and Bose claim that this system provides a sound spread of up to 180 degrees and gives greater clarity and sound penetration to the back of the venue.
Advantages of the Bose L1 Compact Portable Sound System is that because the system consists of only 3 or occasionally 4 pieces/sections it takes no more than 5 minutes to set-up and is easily portable. Because the L1 system is located behind each musician and thanks to the 180 degree radiation of sound, the musicians hear the same elements of sound that the audience hear and can hear themselves and each other more easily and with greater clarity, which in turn allows the stage volume to be lower. Furthermore the low, wedge-shaped pattern of sound waves from the Cylindrical radiator speakers send very little sound to the upper walls and ceiling of the venue ensuring minimal reverberation.
The system's power stand includes an integrated bass speaker and amplifier, plus a built-in mixer providing a total of four inputs and two outputs. Channel 1 is a microphone input with a customised ToneMatch preset for a hand-held dynamic microphone. The preset automatically optimises a hand-held microphone's tone when used with the L1 Compact system. Channel 2 accepts up to three inputs at once, including a guitar, keyboard or other instrument, DJ mixer, MP3 player, laptop or projector. It also features a customised ToneMatch preset to optimize the sound of an acoustic guitar .... Come and check out this amazing Bose System now at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
