The purpose of this Trayvon Martin Poetic Tribute is to raise awareness of not only the case itself, but to recognize the bigger issues of society at large. We live in a society where fear of diversity and differences are implanted in our minds through media and in all sources as a whole, which teaches us to react off of fear, vengeance, and hate. Imagine if we pay fear with unity; vengeance with forgiveness; and hate with love. Trayvon Martin case has created a stage and opportunity for us to love despite our differences. This film is only one way the outcome could have happened. We weren't there so please don't think we're saying this is how it happened. Truth of the matter is, if you actually listen to the poem, you'll notice the power in uniting through love (unconditional) and the power in forgiveness. We are not portraying right or wrong, we hope to portray the strength in love and the weakness in fear.
